I don’t remember if I ever told you this at the time but I’m saying now, you were the best friend that I ever had. I know that you won’t read this because I’ll never have the nerve to send it to you but the entire time you were a part of my life you were the most important person in my life. Before you came along I did not know what it was like to have someone that didn’t judge me for what I thought and felt and after you left I did not know what to do. I was lucky enough to call you mine for a little over a year and when I say that I did not know what I had until I lost it I truly mean it. I’m sorry that you had to leave but we grew into different people that wanted things and now that it’s been a few years I am so, so glad that you followed your dream because the United States Marines are lucky to have you.
You will always hold a special place in my heart because you came into my life and carved a place for yourself and no one’s ever going to be able to fill it. I’m glad I know you Jake, you changed me and you taught me a lot of lessons that I needed to learn. I hope you’re good tonight & I hope you have a good time when you come home in a few weeks.
All my best, Jo
